The Spinoff needs an editor to run our pop up comedy section during the New Zealand International Comedy Festival. Sound like you? Read on.
Do you like having a laugh but also getting paid? Love the New Zealand International Comedy Festival but also can rock a spreadsheet with a best of them? Prefer Jim Carrey over Jim Bolger? Cringing at this bad copy and confident you can do better?
The Spinoff is currently looking for a full-time comedy editor to run our pop up Comedy section for three months during the New Zealand International Comedy Festival. We’ll need you from 1 March till 31 May to be our comedy beacon in The Spinoff, coming up with and executing content ideas, liaising with our laugh lords at Flick and co-ordinating with comedians for interviews, podcasts, videos, previews, reviews and whatever other depravity you can think of.
The ideal person for this job will be passionate about the comedy festival and have an in-depth knowledge of comedy both locally and internationally. We’ll need you in the office everyday, so you’ll need to live in Auckland. You’ll also need to feel comfortable writing critically about comedy, commissioning and editing copy and organising content to run daily for three months. We want someone who can help make The Spinoff the only place for fresh, interesting and helpful comedy festival coverage in New Zealand.
If this sounds like your dream gig, we’d love to hear from you – even if you’ve got a show in the festy, we’ll figure it out. No heckles, promise.
Please send your cv through to email@example.com by Wednesday 22nd February (really soon, we know).
