Lucy Carter
Lucy Carter (Kāi Tahu) is a Māori Social Scientist at Massey University and GNS Science. She received a 2014 Fulbright Award to complete a Masters specialising in Sociology of Disasters at Colorado State University. Her work is focused primarily on indigenous disaster management and resilience, as well as school safety.

Social scientist Lucy Carter says people's resilience and generosity during the 2010 and 2011 Canterbury earthquakes spurred her to look at how Māori and indigenous communities respond to disaster.
