Dr Corinne Seals is a senior lecturer of applied linguistics at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington. Corinne (Karina) is Ukrainian-American by birth, and she has been leading the project “Languages, Experiences and Ideologies of the War in Ukraine” since 2014. Her 2019 book Choosing a Mother Tongue: The Politics of Language and Identity in Ukraine details Ukrainian experiences of language and politics following the 2014 Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine and the Russian annexation of Crimea.
