Born in Wales, Sally J Morgan lives in Wellington with her wife, the novelist Jess Richards. Sally is Emerita Professor at Massey University's Toi Rauwhārangi College of Creative Arts. Her debut novel Toto Among the Murderers (2020), based on an encounter with Fred and Rosemary West, was longlisted for the Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction and won the 2022 Portico Prize.
