The first leaders' debate of the 2026 election season is shaping up as a doozy, and the only thing that could possibly improve it is The Spinoff's leaders' debate bingo card.

We did it in 2020, we did it in 2023, and now The Spinoff has done it again: we've conjured up a bingo card to make tonight's battle between Christopher Luxon and Chris Hipkins even more thrilling. If you're a terrible Tuesday night hedonist, you could even repurpose it as a drinking game.

The first leaders' debate is live from 7pm tonight on the 1News website, TVNZ+ and TVNZ1, with Jack Tame moderating for the first time. We'll be liveblogging it right here on The Spinoff too – see you there.
