For the first time in at least 150 years, the sound of wild kiwi can be heard at night in the wild west of Wellington. This month The Side Eye investigates a community-led project showing how to nurture kiwi the right way.

The Side Eye is a monthly non-fiction comic by Toby Morris, supported by NZ On Air. Read the rest of the series here.
