Now You Know, season two, episode 54
Robbie Nicol explains the launch of the National and Labour Party's election campaigns.
New Zealand's two largest political parties had their official campaign launches in Tāmaki Makaurau yesterday. The National Party’s event at the New Zealand International Convention Centre drew a headcount of roughly 750, RNZ’s Russell Palmer reports, in a space capable of holding far more – leaving rows of empty seats visible behind the speakers. Labour’s at the Due Drop Events Centre in Manukau filled its 690-seat auditorium to capacity, with The Post’s Henry Cooke noting some people were turned away at the door.
The election is now 40 days away.
