Robbie Nicol is here to explain all things fiscal and all things hole.

National is promising to introduce an independent policy costings unit to stop the constant political fighting about fiscal holes. Nicola Willis wanted to establish the unit this previous term, but National's coalition partners, Act and NZ First, did not support the policy.

The Green Party and the Labour Party want to go further than National, promising to establish a full Parliamentary Budget Office similar to the one Australia established in 2012.
