Want to be our new community manager?
We’re searching for someone to look after audiences at The Spinoff and continue growing our relationship with them.
When we say community manager, we mean it in both old-school and new-school ways. The job entails some online community management and editorial content creation on social media but also involves coordinating marketing and communications campaigns and initiatives, helping to look after The Spinoff Members programme, assisting in audience revenue development opportunities and playing a role in bringing events at The Spinoff to life. If we’re growing, talking with, providing value to or meeting audiences, this role will be at the core of ensuring that’s a productive and positive experience.
You’ll report to the head of audience and work with the editor of The Spinoff.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinating and delivering our programme of communications and campaigns for Spinoff Members, maintaining members communications audience lists and assisting in a programme of audience revenue development opportunities and improvements
- Coordinating The Spinoff marketing campaigns, managing SEM and social media campaigns
- Social media content creation and scheduling for the editorial team on Instagram
- Moderating and responding to comments on platforms where audiences can interact with Spinoff content
- Coordinating The Spinoff events for members, audiences and collaborations with partners
- Looking after The Spinoff supplier and event partners
Skills and experience
An ideal candidate will be a confident writer who can craft clean copy and use words to win people over, capture attention and be a voice for The Spinoff across a range of channels. You’ll be organised, personable, love a spreadsheet and enjoy working autonomously with the support of a tight-knit team. You’ll be a problem solver with attention to detail and someone who finds satisfaction in making things easy for people.
You will have a good understanding of social and digital media with an instinct for serving audiences. You will have some experience with social media community management, digital marketing, content creation for platforms like Instagram and design. Ideally, you’d be familiar with digital ad platforms like Meta and Google and email platforms like Mailchimp. Interest in audience insights and analytics would be a bonus. We’re also very happy to provide opportunities for learning and top-of-the-line upskilling in this area.
