Worker strikes and (maybe) lightning strikes, as they happen.

More than 100,000 public sector workers are set to walk off the job today, bringing mass disruption to schools and hospitals and rallies and marches to much of Aotearoa.

The twist? Severe weather warnings across swathes of the country, recommending people stay indoors. Throughout the day we’ll bring you updates from the strike action around the country as well as some wind intermissions from cities under weather warnings.
