Damian Alexander and Shelton Woolright of Blindspott share their perfect weekend playlist.

Few embody the “west is best” mindset as well as Blindspott. So, it’s probably a good thing the bogan rockers will be able to let their West Auckland sensibilities loose as a part of a supergroup comprised of Devilskin’s Jennie Skulander and Nail, Kora’s Fran and Laughton, and Fur Patrol’s Julia Deans, to name a few, for The Rock 2000 on September 13.

The Spark Arena event will celebrate 25 years of The Rock’s annual countdown – also known as “bogan Christmas” – with a live counting and performance from the NZ Rock All Stars supergroup. “We’re both excited to play alongside the legendary Wolfmother as well as stand on stage with some of NZ best rock artists as part of the NZ rock all stars,” the band says. “Their energy and musicianship will make this an inspiring night not to be missed.”

With only one weekend to go until the big day, Blindspott are picturing the perfect way for fans to enjoy their musical stylings: “A relaxing Sunday afternoon, unwinding after a busy weekend, with our music providing a soothing soundtrack nursing a ‘self inflicted injury,’ also known as the hangover.” Beauty is pain.

To help you get to that level, enjoy Alexander and Woolright’s 10 songs that make their weekend perfect(ly bogan).
