Age: 29

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Ethnicity: Pākehā

Religion: Agnosti-spicy

Occupation: Supermarket manager

Length of relationship: 2.5 years

Children: No but hoping :P

How we met: I met my boo when she started working with my team while she was at uni. We STRICTLY did not start dating or seeing each other in any way romantically until after she left.

The best thing about my relationship: I love how fun and upbeat she always is and is always encouraging me to try new things like rock-climbing.

A problem we can't seem to resolve: Her parents absolutely hate me. I've really tried to make a good impression but no matter what I do, I think they resent me for giving their daughter a better life.

This is how we share/separate our finances: I already own my house so she helps by paying the utilities while I pay for the mortgage. Other than that we split our finances down the middle by having a shared account that we both contribute to, that pays for groceries and fuel etc.

This is how we split chores and childcare: I like to tackle the big picture things while she probably does more of the heavy load on smaller thing (eg cooking, laundry etc).

Our sex life in three words: electric, electric, ELECTRIC

The thing that makes me a good partner: I'm really supportive and provide great advice for my partner.

The thing I need to work on to be a better partner: I don't like it but I know I can be a bit jealous sometimes. I really don't like it when she goes out without me - I know she won't do anything but i just can't help but get worried for her/us.

What I most appreciate in my partner: She's so kind and thoughtful, and it doesn't hurt that she's absolutely STUNNING too ;)

What I most resent in my relationship: I feel like she has kinda unrealistic expectations for her future. She wants to use her law degree to work in places like London or New York and I'm afraid that she doesn't know how impossible that is when you grow up in Aotearoa. I love her to bits but I think sometimes she needs to slow down and appreciate what she's got a bit more.

The thing that has changed the most about my relationship over time: We used to go out on a lot of dates when we first started seeing each other romantically. Since she moved in with me, we spend a LOT of time together. She's really enjoyed letting me catch her up on a bunch of classic TV shows - her favourite is Sons of Anarchy.

It would surprise people to know this about my relationship: that we've only been together for 2.5 years! we are so good together that I think people are surprised we aren't married yet.

Our last big fight was about: we had a big argument late last year because she wanted us to travel all the way to Auckland to watch "pinkpantheress" which is not my cup of tea. I didn't want to spend my hard-earned annual leave and I didn't think that she should spend it on that either because that means we wouldn't be able to take a bigger holiday together later. She ended up going with her girlfriend instead.

If I hadn't met my partner: I can't imagine a reality without her, I think fate brought us together

I expect my relationship to last until: the end of time.

My relationship advice is: There's no such thing as "out of your league". I never thought I could land a catch like my partner but anything is possible! :)
