The Spinoff presents SUPERPOD 2021

In a year notable only for the birth of a large, starchy root vegetable, a supergroup of hosts from The Spinoff Podcast Network rack their brains for something to talk about in our annual crossover episode.

Hark! The herald angels sing. And lo, the wise hosts of Gone By Lunchtime, Nē?, The Fold, Dietary Requirements, The Real Pod and… Madeleine Chapman followed the star in the east to where the baby lay. And they rejoiced when they looked upon the new messiah, a 7.9kg potato from Ngāhinapōuri called Doug.

Join us in the twilight of a Covid-ridden 2021 (and the day after The Spinoff Christmas party no less) for Superpod 2021, where we dive into a year defined by big changes for big media, National’s ongoing adopt-a-new-leader drive, Rawiri Waititi’s Air Jordans, the brief, joyful reprieve of Celebrity Treasure Island, our heroes in hospo, the Olympics (remember them?) and our new tuber overlord.

Come for the commentary, stay for the disgruntled Christmas cracker factory employee who put all the jokes and hats in one cracker.

Listen to SUPERPOD 2021 on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you normally listen to podcasts.
