“Oh yeah, I can’t afford that.” According to economist Kelvin Davidson, renters have hit an “affordability ceiling”. They just can’t afford to pay any more rent. Meanwhile, the supply of rental properties has gone up, leading to a decline in rental prices for the first time since 2009.
