Reuben Friend

Reuben Friend (Ngāti Maniapoto, Pākehā) is the director of Pātaka Art Gallery and Museum in Porirua. From 2009-2013 he was the Curator of Māori and Pacific Art at City Gallery Wellington, and in a previous life worked in policy as the Senior Advisor for Treaty Relations at Wellington City Council, and as the Art, Culture and Heritage Advisor for the Featherston, Carterton and Masterton City Councils. Friend does not have preferred pronouns, but does wish to follow the trend of stating that he has procreated, being also a husband and a father.
