Nathan Fielder’s Elizabeth Holmes documentary is getting a theatrical release in NZ after all, it's just been announced.
Attention, Nath Heads: it looks like we are going to be able to see You Can See Everything after all.
Earlier this week, The Spinoff raised the alarm, reporting local Nathan Fielder fans were revolting over the lack of a new Zealand theatrical release date for his mysterious Elizabeth Holmes documentary.
Today, an email from the local film distribution company Matter confirmed You Can See Everything will screen in selection New Zealand theatres from November 12.
That’s the same release date as Australia, but more than a month after America, where You Can See Everything screens from October 16.
The 174-minute documentary is directed by Primetime's Lance Oppenheim and follows the convicted and jailed Silicon Valley founder of the blood testing start-up Theranos in the month before she begins an 11-year prison sentence.
Critics have called this the movie event of the year, with one saying they may "think about this movie for the rest of my life".
The lack of New Zealand screening plans had irked the nation’s Fielder fanbase desperate for another fix from the Nathan For You and The Rehearsal mastermind.
One called it, "Disgusting. Despicable," while another suggested it could turn fans back to online piracy.
For Nath Heads, that now won't be necessary – but it's going to be a long six weeks to wait until November 12. Is that enough time to learn how to fly a plane?
