Age: 40
Gender: Woman
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Religion: None
Occupation: Public servant
My living location is: Suburban
The apps I’m on: None anymore
I’m looking for: An easy-on-the-yes, warm, funny, confident man.
Mostly I’m finding: Men unwilling to commit, men wanting me to be their mum, men who want to sleep with me and are mighty offended when I don’t.
My last serious relationship was: I was married once, am divorced, had a nearly three-year relationship post that with a man who cheated on me.
The worst date I ever had: A man I met organically through work, who told me he wanted to ‘fuck me’ and knew i felt the same, in a full restaurant, on our first date and proceeded to put his hand up my dress. Needless to say, I swatted his hand away (saying that kindly, I did much worse), asked for our bill, and ran out. He texted me post that and said he thought it went rather well. Join the dots.
The best date I ever had: I have really good dates with my current situationship.
The most regrettable thing I ever did on a date: I haven’t. I haven’t been out on that many.
The best thing a date ever did for me: Got me flowers and didn’t expect to ‘stay over’.
The biggest red flag I’ve seen on a date: Read the answer for the worst date. It was bad while i was in it. Like excruciatingly so.
On a date I usually wear: whatever I am in the mood for- dress, jeans, heels whatever really.
I have sex when: I wait, it needs to feel right and I don’t mind the wait, even if the man might.
I wish dating was: Easier, I have kids, and it ain’t easy, but also less complicated.
This is what I think about who pays on dates: We go halves but if the guy insists, I don’t take umbrage.
Three words that describe my dream date: Easy, confident, funny.
My dating advice is: Step away from the apps. Slowly.
