Anthony McCarten wrote the films The Theory of Everything and Darkest Hour. He is also the author of five novels, and co-wrote the international stage hit Ladies Night with Stephen Sinclair. He studied creative writing at Victoria University and is the only IIML graduate to win a Bafta. Anthony was born in New Plymouth in 1961.

Anthony McCarten is nominated for Oscars and wins Baftas for the films he writes, such as The Theory of Everything and Darkest Hour. The New Plymouth-raised writer is also a novelist with a devoted following in Germany. He reports from his latest tour.
