Watch new documentary Lynley Dodd: Writing the Pictures, Painting the Words, out now on The Spinoff.

In 1983, a little dog called Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s dairy trotted into our lives, and things were never quite the same again. But who is the woman that dreamed him up? For the first time, Dame Lynley Dodd takes us inside her wonderful, whimsical world. Directed by Susan Leonard (The Casketeers).

Lynley Dodd: Writing the Pictures, Painting the Words was made with the support of NZ On Air.
