Seven yellow-legged hornets have been found on Auckland’s North Shore, including five queens and two males. Biosecurity New Zealand has laid 142 traps to catch the pest and is encouraging public surveillance. If you see a yellow-legged hornet or a hornet nest, take a photo from a safe distance and report it to the Ministry for Primary Industries at report.mpi.govt.nz/pest or call the ministry at 0800 80 99 66.
