Last weekend, 11,500 Wellingtonians beat down the doors to get into Te Matapihi ki te Ao Nui, Wellington’s central library, for its grand reopening. The library has been closed since 2019 for a $217.6 million upgrade, including earthquake strengthening.

Wellington mayor Andrew Little has described it is a huge step forward for the city.
