Retail NZ says it’s time for New Zealand to consider a Temu tax, like the tax on fast fashion France adopted in 2025. Currently, the French government charges €5 per item from some ultra-fast fashion companies. That fee is set to rise to €10 by 2030, capped at 50% of the product’s retail price.
