Uber drivers win Supreme Court case

The Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal from Uber, agreeing with the Employment Court and the Court of Appeal that four Uber drivers are employees. According to the Supreme Court’s summary, Uber argued that they merely supply “the digital platform that … enables drivers and riders to connect and form their own business relationships” and “submitted that drivers are independent contractors, not employees.” The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal unanimously.
