Sports: Five Movie Scenes That Perfectly Sum Up the Hansen-Meyer Bromance

There may be a spot in a Rugby World Cup final at stake, but if you thought you were going to get anything other than mutual respect out of All Blacks coach Steve Hansen and Springboks coach Heyneke Meyer, you must be incredibly disappointed with the build up to this weekend’s semifinal.

We’re not disappointed. We at The Spinoff Sports appreciate all this touchy feeliness. They may be chasing the same result but let’s be honest, Heyneke Meyer loves Steve Hansen. And Steve loves him back.

Yes, even at the pointy end of the professional coaching business, you need someone who will be there to offer reassurance – a friend to look out for you, even when you are confused.

And in those crucial moments, when your confidence is shot and when you are running low on self belief, you need that special someone in your life who you can share a beer with, and who will give you that much needed boost.

Who knows, you may even be invited to a sleep over.

And ultimately, when all is said and done, and the battle is over, just remember that even the biggest of rivals, can still be there for each other.
