Ever wanted to work for The Spinoff? Now is the hour.

The Spinoff is seeking a new member for our commercial team to come and work in our sunny city fringe offices. The focus on the role will be ensuring our existing clients are kept happy and fulfilled, while also bringing in new business to allow this dynamic digital media brand to continue to thrive.

The focus will be on building and maintaining relationships with clients, shaping content-centric proposals and ensuring we deliver on time and target. They will have exceptional time management skills and be a strong project manager so as to ensure that all stakeholders are kept informed, engaged and happy.

They will have great communication skills, will hustle hard, and be proactive in terms of generating and managing leads. As a result, they will need experience (around 2-5 years) in sales or account management at either agencies or within the media. Ideally, they will have an understanding of branded content and be able to convey its power to potential clients. Part of this is understanding that content is fundamentally different to advertising, and that managing expectations and being solutions focused is critical. Similarly, being energetic, articulate and able to present well in formal and informal situations is a must.

It’s helpful to have a knowledge of Google Analytics, Sheets, Docs and WordPress.

Most of all they will need to be passionate about The Spinoff – to understand what makes it different and special, and want to be a part of maintaining and growing the special bonds which exist between our staff, audience and clients. They will understand where The Spinoff fits in the market, have ideas about how to expand that place while still maintaining the singular voice and vision of the business.

The Spinoff is an independent media company founded in 2014. It has been able to grow and thrive (making the Deloitte’s Fast50 in 2018) because its staff really believe in its mission, and enjoy both the hard work and fun of building something new from the ground up.
