Back of the ‘Net: FIFA 16, What a Time To Be Alive – The Week in Premier League Twitter

A very quiet week on Premier League Twitter, with most players selling their accounts to EA Sports in exchange for an advance copy of the hottest ticket in town, FIFA 16.

The game’s release was celebrated in the UK with a tournament which saw eight Premiership legends battle it out on the Xbox for the highly unofficial Celebrity Cup. Read the full Spinoff coverage of the final here.

Premier League Flight Risk of the Week

Watford’s two-goal hero against Newcastle Odion Ighalo was allowed to visit the cockpit on the flight home. This sets a dangerous precedent if you ask me. What if he scores a hat trick this weekend? Will he get to push one of the buttons?

Premier League Tile-based Game of the Week

West Ham appears to have gone mad for Rummikub this week. They can’t get enough of the tile-based numbers game, playing it on the team bus and even at home. Could this have been the secret of their success over table-topping Manchester City last weekend?

Premier League Dads of the Week

One man who didn’t have time for Rummikub was West Ham goalkeeper Adrian, who was too busy learning how to be a dad. The title of the book translates to ‘Help! New Fathers’ and the speech bubble “So now what can we do?”

Premier League mixtape of the week

After FIFA 16, by far the biggest release of the Premier League week was the surprise Future and Drake mixtape What a Time to Be Alive.

Future has worn an Arsenal shirt on at least one occasion so the love is definitely mutual.

Premier League / TV crossover of the Week

Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs visited an exact replica of the Friends set this week for some reason. Could Arsene Wenger be about to make his long-awaited TV directorial debut, remaking the show with Arsenal players as cast members? Olivier Giroud is so Ross.

Will Odion Ighalo score a Lewandowski-style 5-for this weekend and get to fly the plane home? There’s only one way to find out. Watch every game live or on demand at Premier League Pass.

Keep going!
