Big changes to NZ’s driver licensing rules

The New Zealand government has announced the biggest changes to the driver licensing system in fifteen years. According to Minister of Transport Chris Bishop, “Drivers will no longer need to sit a second practical test to move from the restricted to full licence, saving time and money.”

Other changes include increasing the length of time required on both the learner’s and restricted licence for under-25s before they apply for the next licence and a reduction in the number of required eyesight screenings.
