In the final episode of Bryn & Ku’s Singles Club, the pair travel to Thames to get some wisdom from those who have been on the dating scene since long before they were born.

Bryn & Ku’s Singles Club is a new documentary series for The Spinoff following award-winning comedians and friends Brynley Stent and Kura Forrester as they embark on a cross-country quest to find love. Meeting people from all walks of life and relationship statuses, they will explore the realities of dating and relationships in modern day Aotearoa, and learn more about themselves along the way.

In the final episode, the pair travel to Thames to get some wisdom from those who have been on the dating scene since long before they were born. Visiting local sports clubs and community gardens, they meet older New Zealanders who have found love later in life, or contentment in being alone, and are happy to share what they’ve learned about matters of the heart.

Returning home to Tāmaki Makaurau with a wealth of wisdom, the pair reflect on all the people they have met, the lessons they will take into the future, and ask one more big question: could the love they were looking for have been right there all along?

In episode five of Bryn & Ku’s Singles Club, our pair head to our capital city and finally brave the dating scene solo.

In episode five they visit Kura’s hometown of Pōneke to catch up with her family and get some crucial pointers from her nieces and nephew about how to attract a man. Emboldened by the advice, Bryn and Ku then bring down their walls, wear their hearts on their sleeves, and bravely head out on first dates in the capital city. Kura heads to a food court for a lunch date, and Brynley grabs a drink at a local bar.

Will it be love at first sight? Will their perspectives have changed since meeting so many singletons? And, most importantly, will Brynley talk about her dead guinea pig again?
