Important post-flood update from organisers, February 1: Morningside Live Blockparty will proceed this Sunday February 5th as planned. We are hoping for sunshine and will update everyone if anything changes! Unfortunately due to the biblical events of last weekend, we have had to remove The Spinoff’s Carpet Club and Aja can no longer perform. Our thoughts go out to all the families and businesses that have been affected by the devastating weather of last weekend. Hope to see you on Sunday! For more see here.
Join us for live comedy, live podcasts, live drawing and live human conversation on February 5.
The glorious central Auckland suburb of Morningside plays host next month to a suburban street takeover bursting at the seams with live music, local food and drink and a cornucopia of entertainment.
The Spinoff loves Morningside – our home since 2019 – so we’re thrilled to be staging a takeover of our own within the brand new boutique festival. The venue: down a mysterious ramp and into the bowels of the earth, aka the underground carpark of the Carpet Court.
The Spinoff Carpet Club will span a range of Spinoffy things. Snappy, guest-star-sprinkled live versions of our podcasts Gone by Lunchtime and The Real Pod, live comedy from Chris Parker, Janaye Henry, Guy Montgomery and Courtney Dawson, plus Toby and Toby: Toby Manhire interviewing and Toby Morris live-drawing some very special guests.
Tickets are strictly limited – this is a street party, not a stadium – so get in quick.
Alongside Fat Freddy’s Drop on the mainstage and the Spinoff crew in the Carpet Club, the lineup features a plethora of established and emerging artists, including Rubi Du, Team Dynamite’s Lucky Lance with Christoph El Treuento, 2022 APRA Maioha Award finalist AJA, and Reiki Ruawai from Masaya Band.
Along with the mainstage, the dancefloor will be glowing at Joel Little’s dreamy new venue, BIG FAN, the beers flowing at the Morningside Tavern, Crave and Kind alongside a plethora of beverage and food options throughout the entire venue. Not to mention the good vibes zone humming at the Glasshouse.
